چکیده

Abstract Today, wire sawing of natural stone is undergoing widespread commercialization. In addition to rock extraction and processing with single wires, composed a multitude diamond-impregnated beads mounted onto steel rope, this technology increasingly used for slabbing granite blocks on multi-wire machines. Evolving sophistication equipment dictates novel tool designs formulations. For technologists specifying bead compositions, it common habit instinctively follow the circular saw segment design guidelines. A poor performance often an undesirable consequence such approach. To meet that challenge, theoretical models by means diamond have been presented contrasted respect loading conditions. The analytical treatments are supported scarcely available industrial quantitative assessments qualitative observations. evaluation cutting forces identification system characteristics affecting vibration rotation instrumental in both machine formulation. practitioners working granite, provided knowledge also essential diagnose prevent problems inherent sawing, as high incidence breakage, unsatisfactory life capability eccentric wear. Characterization of the Diamond Wire Sawing Process for Monocrystalline Silicon by Raman Spectroscopy and SIREX Polarimetry

A detailed approach to evaluate the sub-surface damage of diamond wire-sawn monocrystalline silicon wafers relating to the sawing process is presented. Residual stresses, the presence of amorphous silicon and microcracks are considered and related to diamond wire velocity and cutting ability. In particular, the degree of amorphization of the wafer surface is analyzed, as it may affect the etchi...

Revolution in Diamond Cutting: Laser Sawing of Diamond Crystals

Laser sawing of diamonds is beginning to revolutionize the diamond-cutting industry. Not only does the laser saw offer savings in time and money, but it also enables the cutting of material virtually unworkable by conventional methods and makes available an almost limitless assortment of fancy shapes. This article describes the components and operation of the laser saw, as well as the situation...

Assessing the Quality of X-ray Optic Surfaces of Si Crystals Cut by Diamond-Wire and Rotating-Blade Sawing Techniques

The next generation of X-ray diffraction optics will benefit from crystal surfaces with very high quality (extremely flat and strain-free), but knowledge on how to achieve such surfaces, and how surface imperfections affect the diffraction properties, is sparse in the literature. As a first step toward initializing a systematic study on this topic, we evaluate in this paper the surface quality ...

Characteristics of acoustic emission during single diamond scratching of granite

The acoustic emission (AE) measured during single diamond scratching of granite can provide valuable information about the structural composition and sawability of natural stone material. As described by Prof. Dr.-Ing. R. Clausen*, Dr, C.Y. Wang** and Dr,-Ing, M. Meding***, scratching tests are shown to i ndicate a direct relationship between the characteristics of AE generated by scoring, the ...

Modelling of contact regimes in wire sawing with dissipative particle dynamics.

Optimization of the wire sawing process of silicon ingots requires a profound understanding of the dynamic interaction of wire, slurry and silicon material. In this paper, the influence of wire velocity and applied wire stress on the process is investigated using dissipative particle dynamics and discrete element simulations for modelling the fluid and the grains in the abrasive suspension. In ...
